A bit of background:

I have lived on the north coast of California for nearly 40 years. As a rural resident I've taken work in a number of different fields.

My interest in woodworking and my self-employment as a carpenter and cabinetmaker during the 1980's led to an active involvement and employment with the Institute for Sustainable Forestry (ISF) for over 20 years.

At the same time, the early '90's, my brother gave me a PC running DOS 3.0 and I went down the rabbit hole. In the process of working towards development of a sustainable hardwood industry with ISF I acquired a number of computer skills focused on an non-profit office environment and small business development: grant proposal writing, business plan development, discounted cash flows and pro-forma P&L projections, workshop/event organizing and promotion, database development tracking members and program participants, mailing list maintenance in spreadsheets and databases, website development as well as the general computer maintenance necesssary to accomplish the work.

In the mid-nineties I found myself teaching Computer Science 101 as an adult education class for the local community college - College of the Redwoods. I taught CS101 for a couple of years.

Over the past 10 years I have continued provide computer support services through Lost Coast Computing. I offer a patient approach and reasonable rates for home, business office or non-profit.
